  • Malaysian National Anthem

I was talking over dinner with a few other OCFers one night and we came upon a subject of interest as we discussed about our school days.. how we needed to do our "ikrar" and sing our country's national anthem. I then remembered what my sociology lecturer in HELP once told me about it. I shared to my guys, that the Malaysian National Anthem is actually copied from some Hawaiian song entitled Mamula Moon. It was choosen as our national anthem because it was the Agong's favourite song of the time. This song was composed sometime in the 1940s by the way.

    So.. Malaysia boleh? *(Shakes head)*

  • Name on a Plate

Ah.. apparently I have some fans in Melbourne. This good soul even had my name down on his car's number plate. Haha! Check it out. Found this as I was shopping in Coles buying drinks for my CG.

Yeah! My name on someones Subaru! I rock man!

This picture was taken with my k610i by the way. I'll have to say the quality of the shot was excellent for a camera without autofocus =)

  • Chronicles of the laptop touchpad

Before I begin, let me pre-warn you that this entry is totally... unproductive.. and dumb in a few ways. And no, I'm not too bored in Melbourne.. though I could just be in denial.

It all begun with me reading my prescribed text... then I wanted to use the touch pad to scroll down, and I tried using the plastic tip  of my glasses. But, to my surprise.. it didn't work! There was no response at all from the touch pad. So what does it respond to? Let's find out...

    CIMG8600

I did say we started with my glasses have I? So, plastic.. definately out.

    GLASSES (PLASTIC) : FAIL

    CIMG8594

I thought of using rubber.. cause I guessed it was the closest thing to human skin.. and it's techincally organic. But nope!

    RUBBER: FAIL

    CIMG8595

Then I tried the handkerchief since it was nearby. Nah.

    HANKERCHIEF: FAIL

    CIMG8596

Then I tried using my wallet. Perhaps a wide, soft and textiled surface would work. It didn't.

    WALLET: FAIL

    CIMG8597

Perhaps it was the surface of our skin.. it has many er.. 'wrinkles'.. that form your fingerprint. So I tried the passport. But gee. Doesn't work as well.

    PASSPORT (LEATHER) : FAIL

    CIMG8598

So, only one thing works on it so far.. your fingertips. End of pointless experiment.

    FINGERS : PASS !

  • Moomba Fest!

Was down at the city over the weekend for their annual Mooba fest. It's some "no specific occasion' celebration they have in Melbourne. Australian's love to party. But the display was REALLY REALLY COOL. Been a long time since something impressed me so much. Check out the video at the bottom.

The games and rides available at the festival. I didn't sit in any of them though. Pricey.

  • Settled Beach Cravings...

Since I got down to Melbourne I've always wanted to see the beach... that exotic, sexy side of Australia. Finally, I took time to visit the nearest beach I could reach near Frankston.

I took a free ride from my campus down to the Monash Peninsula campus. It was kinda cool.. a 40 seat or so bus with only ONE passenger (me) in it. The bus conductor was pretty cool too.. nice and friendly white guy. It was a 25 minute drive to a stop in Cranbourne.. then another 20 minutes to reach the Peninsula campus. Didn't take any pictures of it.. didn't wanna look like some dorky tourist. Monash Peninsula has more white people.. was abit intimidating at times. It was quite a nice place.. but I think I prefer Berwick. Got some pictures below. Although Malaysia and Australia may have the same facilities and technology available.. the Aussies really use with stuff to the max. The biggest difference to me.. Australia is pretty. =P

An empty bus.. I was the only passenger in it for the whole trip

    CIMG8492
Nice highways.. unlike Malaysia.. Australian ones look friendly and prettier

    CIMG8493
Houses here all come in different designs.. altogether making the suburb one nice pretty thing to look at. And for a 1st world country.. their skies are very nice and clear

    CIMG8495
The fields.. the colour and space.. really gives feng shui some actual meaning =P

Anyways, upon reaching Peninsula.. I tried getting my bearings right.. wasn't sure of where to head intially. I walked through this path behind a housing estate heading towards town.. was quite a nice walk. At that point I still wasn't sure if I was going the right way. But, let's walk by faith!

Soon enough I reached the town itself, and to my relief the ocean was in sight! Yay! Some how the sea facinates me. It's like a deep void where I can release all my stress and worries.. soaking them like a sponge. Especially the sound of the waves.. starring at fish under the jetty. Nice..

    CIMG8506
    Frankston down.. see the sea?

    CIMG8513
And yes! The beach at last!

    CIMG8545
Even the seagulls here look pretty. Geez.

    CIMG8539
And what's coming to the Australian beach for without snapping a few chicks in bikini? Hehe..

Almost a month here in Australia already. Oh how time flies. And STILL it hasn't sank in to me yet that I'm here. Soon my assignments will hit.. and months later my first round of Australian exams. Would coming here make a difference? I hope so. Just continuing on this march of life. ETA 1 year and a half with no more margin for error.

I had my first CG/OCF this evening.. and the Lord spoke to me regarding what He wants me to do here.. sort of. Initially, I saw this as a good break from BB and serving His ministry like I did back home. Apparently, it's not the case. He will always want me to seek first His Kingdom. So very soon I'll be volunteering myself for OCF duties. As for BB? Hmm.. I'll start by visiting the nearest company first. Need to see if there's anything I can do to help. No point going if I can't help them. See how it goes. And as usual, prayer lights the way.

  • Something from class

I got this interesting phrase from managerial communication today. This requires participation from both male and female of what this sentence mean. So, what do you think this means? You may use comma's in this equation.

Woman without her man is nothing.
